VLB Berlin: Successful premiere of the International Brewing Web Conference

From December 1 to 3, the International Brewing Web Conference (IBWC) of VLB Berlin took place for the first time. Around 150 participants gathered online during these three days in the "VLB Virtual Campus" specially set up for the event. More than 20 presentations dealt with topics like brewing raw materials, current developments in various beer categories, innovations in brewing technology and their application, sustainability, process control and quality assurance. Topics included, for example, the market for non-alcoholic beers in the USA, possibilities for saving wastewater and energy, and new analytical methods for determining the oxygen content in filled containers.

In addition to the numerous livestreams, registered users had the opportunity to learn more about current developments in the international brewing industry at the digital booths of the participating companies. In order to enable the networking character of a live event in a digital format, virtual "meeting points" were available in addition to a chat function, where discussions between the participants were possible.

With the premiere of the International Brewing Web Conference, VLB Berlin has successfully expanded its range of advanced educational events to include a digital setting.
